Any revisions that need to be made to the map renderings, street labels, or non-dynamic building labels will need to be done by the Concept3D team. If you are currently using our dynamic labels, then these can be edited through your content management system (CMS).
Below are the steps for how to add the Round 1 and Round 2 Revision in your content management system (CMS) and what will be needed to complete them. Once added to the CMS, contact your Onboarding Specialist to get them started.
Note: Any additions to the render boundary or scope adjustment may be considered updates and are subject to an additional cost.
What Are Revisions?
Round 1 and Round 2 Revisions give you the opportunity to review your map rendering and request changes to fix anything that’s not quite right. A revision is a correction—like moving a road label, changing a building color, or redrawing a path—to improve accuracy. When reviewing, focus on the three main components: Structures, Labels, and Map Visuals.
Revisions are different from updates, which are used to add new information to your map to keep it current over time. If you think you may need an update, please visit THIS help article.
All revisions will be completed in two rounds. Once the two rounds of revisions are complete, any changes to the renderings moving forward will go through the Concept3D map updates process.
How to add Round 1 & 2 Revisions in the CMS
Here is a small overview video of how to add revisions to your map.
When it is time to add your Round 1 & 2 revisions to the CMS, there will already be categories created for you. They are name "Round #1 Revisions" and "Round #2 Revisions".
You'll notice that inside the Round 1 revisions category there is a "Model Edits" or "3D Structure Edits" Category. These are for revisions that require a new 3D model to be made.
Adding new Revisions Process:
1. Create a new Location for each map revision needed. Keep in mind that 3D Structure Updates should go into that category, while regular map revisions can go into the "Round # Revisions" category.
2. Use the location toolbar to mark the area of your rendering that needs updating. To understand each location toolbar function, please read the Location Toolbar Explained article.
3. Fill out all the content in the sidebar with the details of the revision. Be sure to include a Title, Description, Image, and Marker for each location you create.
NOTE: Be careful that your location is in the correct category and NOT in multiple categories.
4. After you have added a few, remember to Save and Publish.
5. Once all revisions are added and ready for Concept3D, notify your Client Success Manager.
Data Needed
The information below breaks down what data is needed for our team to complete the different types of updates and how to add them within the CMS.
Screenshots:
Screenshots are some of the best tools we have for data.
Mac: To take a screenshot on a Mac, press Shift + Command + 4 to capture a selected portion of the screen. This saves the screenshot to your desktop.
PC: To take a screenshot on a PC, press Windows key + Shift + S to open the Snipping Tool and select the area you want to capture. The system saves these screenshots to a dedicated Screenshots folder in your Pictures library.
Map Imagery Edits
These edits consist of path edits, tree edits, road/parking changes, landscaping shapes, and simple color changes to buildings.
Data Needed In the CMS:
- A simple and descriptive Title (eg. Remove Path)
- Location Pin, Polygon, Line, or Shape in the CMS).
- Any Imagery that helps show the edits. (Eg. Site plan, Photos, Google Maps/Earth Screenshots)
- A simple and precise description of the requested edit if the title isn't enough.
- If available: PDFs, Revit files, or SketchUp files (uploaded to Upload Data Link In the upper right corner of your CMS Map). Attaching these to your edit location may not work.
3D Structure Edits
These consist of New or Updated Buildings and Structures that need a 3D model.
3D Structures: New Buildings, Altered Buildings, Statues, Detailed Signs.
Non-Structures: Words on a building, Fences, Paths, Roads, Labels, Trees, Foliage, Water.
Data Needed:
- Descriptive Title (eg. Add Bruce Hall)
- Location Pin, Polygon, or Shape in the CMS).
- Any Imagery that helps show the edits. (Eg. Site plan, Photos, Google Maps/Earth Screenshots)
- A Simple and Precise Description of the edit being requested.
- If available: PDFs, Revit files, CAD files, or SketchUp files (uploaded to Upload Data Link In the upper right corner of your CMS Map). Attaching these to your edit location may not work.
Non Dynamic Label Edits
These consist of Non-Dynamic Label Edits, New or Updated Building Labels and New or Updated Road Label changes (Moving/New label).
Data Needed for all Label edits:
- Descriptive Title (eg. Add Label for "Bruce Hall")
- Location Pin in CMS
- Correct Spelling
- Correct location if moving to a new location
Example:
INTERIOR EDITS
These consist of any interior edits, moving/changing labels, updating floor plans, adding door openings, and adding interiors.
Note: Depending on the amount of interior edits, it may be easier for you and us if you create another sub-category called "Interior Updates"
Data Needed for Interior edits:
- Descriptive Title (eg. Close off door opening)
- Location Pin, Line, or Polygon in CMS (On the correct Level/Floor)
- Correct Spelling
- A Simple and Precise Description of the edit being requested.
- If needed: Any Imagery that helps show the edits. (Eg. Screenshot of a Site plan)

Additional Information
Providing and Uploading Larger Files (Revit, DWG, PDF, CAD, Zips, etc.)
Upload data using the link on your CMS Map in the Upper Right corner.
Or using this link at the top of your CMS map. (If you do not see this link, Contact your Client Success Manager)
Types of Files to upload this way
- PDFs with Top Down Site Plans and Elevations of all sides.
- CAD Files
- 3D Files. (Revit Files, SketchUp Files, Rhino Files, etc.)
- Renderings or images that show building material and colors should be attached to the location in CMS as well as uploaded via the Upload Data links.
See File Types & Examples for more information.
Note: Base exterior renderings include buildings (labels), roads (labels), sidewalks, parking lots, water, general crosswalks, general tree placement (for 3D maps), general woodchip areas, and any additional details outlined in a contract or SOW. Renderings are based on current Google Maps imagery unless high-resolution aerial imagery is provided at the start of the project. Custom features such as detailed landscaping, custom trees, path paver detail, street signs, streetlights, and custom crosswalks are not included in the standard map scope but can be added upon request with a scope adjustment.
