Follow along with this article to learn more about the Interactive Map onboarding process!
Note: this is our base map timeline and it may be adjusted pending the scope of work of your specific project. Additional features may add time to this timeline.
Part 1 (Weeks 1-3)
Review Welcome Email - Your Account Executive and the Onboarding Success Managerwill reach out to introduce themselves and get things moving. Meanwhile, the rest of our team is already started getting your new map ready behind the scenes.
Consider Your Goals! - It's important to take stock of the most important pieces for your Map. What are the main items around campus you want included? What challenges are you hoping to address with your map? It might be good to meet with your team ahead of your Kickoff Call to brainstorm these items.
Attend Kickoff Call - During this call with your Onboarding Success Manager and your Client Success Manager, you'll review your goals, your main points of contact, who on your team will be performing what role, confirm a Go-Live date, and review the timeline of your project, which is maintained in a database called TaskRay.
Concept3D will begin creating your Map Draft Imagery.
Attend CMS 1 Training - During this call, you'll review Categories and Locations and their settings, and then you’ll get a demo of the front end map and the Content Management System. This will be recorded by your Onboarding Success Manager for future reference, and/or if members of your team are unable to join at the scheduled time.
Part 2 (Weeks 4-7)
A 2D Map Draft Image will be created (Not yet ready for review)
Review Options Tab - Once you've completed CMS 1 training, review the Options Tab in your CMS and make changes as necessary.
Review Styles Tab - Next, review the Styles tab to customize the front end of your map.
Add Categories - This will be the main index and the main categorization for all the content on the map. Brainstorm which main categories need to be featured on your map. Build out categories and subcategories as needed.
Add Locations - Once categories and subcategories are established in the CMS, you can start placing location markers at their respective Locations around the map.
|
Pro Tip Use the Bulk Upload Spreadsheet - A great way to get organized and see everything at one time is to copy the bulk upload spreadsheet. Each department or user can own a spreadsheet and build out all locations individually. Once complete, when the categories are in the CMS, users can bulk upload all their locations to the CMS at one time. Connect with your Onboarding Success Manager prior to uploading your first spreadsheet for confirmation that the correct data is included. |
Part 3 (Weeks 8-16)
Your Map Draft Imagery will be uploaded and ready for Round One Revisions.
Determine where the Map will live on your website - Have you considered yet where you're going to place the map for your visitors once it goes live? This would be the time to confirm that location and make the necessary arrangements with your internal team.
Round One Revisions & Call - The Production Team will reach out to let you know our first round of Map renders have been completed, and you'll need to review them as soon as possible. You'll need to add your revisions before C3D will proceed.
Attend CMS Training 2 - Your Onboarding Success Manager will train you on Map Tours, Top Bar Buttons, and other advanced settings in your map. This training will also be recorded for future reference. Please note, if you have not completed outstanding items (creating categories + locations), we will not be able to proceed with your next training.
Your completed Round 1 Revisions Map Imagery will be uploaded and ready for Round Two Revisions.
Round Two Revisions - After your first round, we'll provide the latest version of the Map and request one final round of revisions before we finalize the renders.
Part 4 (Final Stretch)
Your completed Round 2 Revisions Map Imagery will be uploaded and ready to go live.
Attend Final Review Call - You'll meet with your Onboarding Success Manager and your Client Success Manager one last time to make a plan about launching your Map and any other outstanding items.
Launch Your Map! - Once you're ready, we recommend embedding your Map where it can be accessed in two or fewer clicks!
Announce your platform to the community - This can be an email blast, a social media post, or all of the above! Let your community know! You can use our sample press release template right here!
Let us know! - We're always excited to share new launches with the rest of the team, as well as add it to our Map of Maps, Tours, and Calendars to showcase where all our clients are.
