Feature Enhancements
External Tiles Broader Support
External tiles is a feature that allows tiles from other systems or maps to be fed into category layers. We’re excited to announce that external tiles can now be displayed directly within the CMS and on Front End Maps! This means you can easily add and view tile layers from a URL on your maps right from the CMS.
This update supports all three map types in the CMS and has updated help text to confirm compatibility with both ZYX and ZXY format tiles. Simply toggle the external tile category when editing a map, and you’ll see the renderings load instantly.
Always-On Categories Visibility
We've made sure our "Always-On" categories truly live up to their name! These categories will now always display when the map loads, even when using share URLs. This ensures that important locations that are meant to always be visible will be included, providing a consistent experience.
No need to worry about scheduled content settings; if your location isn't scheduled to display, it won't pop up unexpectedly. Plus, we've safeguarded against private always-on categories to prevent any confusion, giving you a seamless map-viewing adventure!
Notable Bug Fixes
• Overlay Toggle Issue Fixed: Custom overlays now correctly turn back on when toggled, ensuring your maps display exactly what you need, when you need it!
• Google Map Tiles Marker Zoom Levels: Google map markers now save the zoom levels correctly within the CMS, ensuring your maps appear just as zoomed in as you set them!
• Rendering Loading Issues in CMS Fixed: an issue where certain renderings, including dynamic labels 2.0, were not loading in the 3D map view, preventing the CMS from freezing.
• Dynamic Labels Now Visible on Satellite View: Dynamic Labels V2 will now be visible in both Map and Satellite views, ensuring a seamless experience for all users.
• Generate Print Map with Private Categories Fixed: You can now generate print maps that include private categories without any issues.
• Marker Icons on C3DGL Maps: an issue where marker icons would not appear on newly created polygons or polylines when using Dynamic Labels 2.0. Now, when you enable the "Show Marker Icon" option, it will save correctly, allowing you to place a marker icon on your location.
• Map Tours Now Open in CMS: Tours now open seamlessly within the Map CMS even when Dynamic Labels V2 is toggled on.
Dynamic Label 2.0 Updates
Line Breaks in Dynamic Labels You can now add line breaks to your dynamic label titles easily! Simply use a line break (\n) to split text into multiple lines. Dynamic labels will properly encode these line breaks, ensuring your text looks just the way you want it. Enjoy a cleaner, more organized display of your content.
Improved Label Ranking System
We've updated our label ranking (via the List Position field) system to be more consistent with existing functionality. Now, lower numbers will rank labels higher on the map, similar to how locations are ranked in the sidebar. This means if you have labels with the list positions 0, 1, and 2, the label with the 0 will be prioritized as the user zooms out.
