Feature & Functionality Updates: 

Transit Loading Improvements

As part of the initiative in Q2 to improve loading of the Interactive Map, improvements were made to the Transit Tab. Previously transit information loaded when the map loaded, slowing down initial load times. Now transit information will only load when the tab is selected. On top of this, we have better error messaging when we are waiting for routes to load, and if no routes are found. 

Improved Search Results Display

The way the page title is set on the interactive map was updated to ensure that all Google can recognize the Map name as the page title in google search results. 

Accessibility Improvements

• Add Indication of State for Map Tour groups

• Update to directions control buttons for better screen reader support

• Add map name as "title" attribute to iframe embed code generated by individual location's "Share" button

Bulk Upload for Categories

This highlighted a pain point in map creation, getting all the right categories created can be tedious as a one by one process. So we have added the ability to bulk upload categories to the CMS! 

• Categories can be uploaded in the same way as locations, just with a separate template

• There is a new option for “Category Bulk Upload” in the bulk upload tab in the CMS 

• Majority of settings can be set in the upload, but there are a few outliers that will need to be updated after the fact (like zoom visibility or adding custom icons)

New CMS Roles for Managing Users, Roles and Localist Connections

The Interactive Map CMS has historically had a single admin role that could do the many admin tasks such as create users and manage roles and access to the Localist feed UI.

In order to better support the needs of our SSO clients and add some more flexibility to roles in general, we broke out a couple new settings in the CMS Accounts manager (Manage Users & Roles, Localist Feeds) We also cleaned up the order the permissions are in to be a little more relevant.

More Distinct Hover Color for Models on 360° Maps

3D Models on 360° Maps have a hover color setting clients can use. The hover color used is now more accurate to the setting clients put in, which also makes the models easier and clearer to see.

The hover color displayed now accurately matches the setting clients put in.

Accessibility Improvements: Categories and Location Markers

Screen reader users will now know more clearly when they’re navigating categories and what action they’re taking in those categories and for those related location markers.
