To help us create accurate and detailed visuals and updates for your map rendering, we often rely on specific files and information from you, especially during Round 1 and Round 2 Revisions. This guide outlines what we typically need, especially when comprehensive 3D satellite imagery or Street View isn't available for your project site.
Required Data for Interiors: Creation/Edits/Updates
Floorplans
File Type: .pdf, .dwg, .ai
-
Notes:
The file needs to show each complete level, including room numbers/names.
A single Page/plan for each level is needed for accuracy. Plans that only show sections of floors may not be accepted.
Required Data for Exteriors: When 3D Satellite Imagery/Street View is Unavailable
When detailed 3D satellite imagery or Street View isn't available for your project site, the following information becomes crucial for us to accurately create your 3D visualizations:
1. Site Plan
File Type: .dwg, .pdf, .jpg
Notes: Must show surrounding areas, new roads/sidewalks, and landscaping. Color not required.
2. Real, Onsite Photos (for material reference)
File Type: .jpg
Notes: Shows material type and color. Need images of all building sides if no elevations or model.
3. Colored Renders (for material reference, if available)
File Type: .jpg, .pdf
Notes: Shows material type and color, or design intent.
4. Elevations
File Type: .dwg, .pdf
Notes: Shows each side of the building.
5. Models - 3D files (if available)
File Type: Revit (.rvt), SketchUp (.skp), .fbx, .obj
Notes: Must be complete, no missing links. Site plan/materials sometimes included.
Tips for Sending Files:
Clearly name your files (e.g., "BuildingName_FloorLevel.pdf").
For multiple files, consider a .zip archive.
For very large files, use the "Upload Data" link in the upper right corner of your map CMS.
Providing this information helps us deliver the best possible 3D visualizations. If you have questions, please reach out to your CSM.
