Easier Theme Management
We’re thrilled to introduce a new import and export feature for themes within Localist! This update allows you to easily save and transfer theme settings for your Localist calendar. Now, you’ll be able to keep track of different versions and transfer themes seamlessly between your production and sandbox calendars. We’re excited to see how you tweak and iterate on your calendar designs!
Improved Accessibility Clarity: User Menus & Profiles
We’ve updated the copy for two areas in Localist related to users:
1) User profiles on event pages
2) User dropdown menu for authenticated users.
For calendars using the social features of Localist, screen reader users now have a clearer experience on event pages, specifically around user profiles. Now, screen readers like JAWS and VoiceOver will announce the user profiles as links with their respective names.
Additionally, we’ve updated the copy for the dropdown menu accessible to logged in users to improve clarity. Now, screen reader users will hear “User Menu” to provide clear context and purpose for the menu.
Comprehensive Financial and Attendance Reports
You now have access to a comprehensive view of all your event attendees and the tickets they buy! There are two new calendar-wide reports available today: 1) Register 2) Attendees.
On the new Register report, you’ll find a breakdown of revenue and total number of tickets sold. You can filter by all your usual criteria: event type, departments, event date, and so on! The numbers of tickets sold and revenue breakdown for your current selection will update accordingly.
The Attendees report is also new and displays all attendees to all of your events. It’s the easiest way to see how your events are doing and identify which events in a series are drawing the largest crowds.
These reports give you deeper insights into your events, helping you make more informed decisions for your communities’ events!
The new Register financial report is available under Metrics.
Key metrics like tickets sold and revenue automatically update based on the filters you set.
You can see tickets and revenue breakdowns for each specific event instance.
The new Attendees report shows attendees by each event instance.
You can filter using all the usual filters you have in Localist.

New Features
Improved Attendees Report
We’ve expanded the functionality of the existing attendees report for events! You can now:
- See attendees by event instance
- Search/sort/filter based on responses to your attendee questions
These enhancements make it easier to manage and analyze attendee data. Whether you’re looking to tailor your events based on attendee responses or need detailed reports for specific event instances, these new features will help you efficiently find what you need.
You can see and sort by the specific event instance an attendee is going to in the Confirmed Tickets page.
You can display, sort, filter, and search through responses to attendee questions right in the Confirmed Tickets page.
Easy Free Ticket Cancellations
Canceling free tickets just got a lot easier! Instead of contacting the event organizer, attendees can now cancel tickets the same way they’d request refunds for Register tickets. These cancellations are automatically processed, and your events’ capacities will be updated to reflect the new available number of tickets.

New Features
Better Register Checkout Experience for Free Events
Free events using Register now have a clearer user experience. We’ll continue to ask for a “Billing Contact” for paid events, but now we’ll ask for “Contact Information” for free events instead.
“Contact Information” displays if the order is completely free.
(Accessibility) Improved Clarity and Navigation for Screen Readers
Localist calendars have been updated to improve clarity and navigability for screen reader users. We’ve matched the audible copy of checkboxes with the visual label so that the checkbox and its current state are clear. We’ve also introduced a “main” landmark to help users find the main content of calendars quickly.
Streamlined Event Submission Process for Event Insights
The Event Insights setting now automatically applies to all events, including those publicly submitted. This ensures consistency in surveying and understanding how well each event performs whether they were internally or publicly created.
Introducing Event Coordinator for More Flexible Permission Control
We've introduced a new subrole for Localist calendars called the Event Coordinator. With this update, administrators now have the flexibility to specify which Event Authors can delete events. While Event Authors retain the ability to delete their own events, Event Coordinators can delete any event they have access to. This new feature provides more control and customization in managing event permissions.
Updated Cookie Policy Experience
We have updated our cookie policy to allow users to interact with your calendar prior to cookie acceptance. This update aligns with GDPR regulations, ensuring compliance while improving convenience for end users.

Once setup, you can still edit the Content Mappings of your Localist Calendar Sync event feed.
