Does Concept3D work with other data systems?
Yes! Our goal is to make the map a single source of information for your campus or facilities. If there are other applications your organization uses, we can create a data feed to overlay that information onto the map.
What types of data feeds are there?
Concept3D categorizes feed types into two categories: Core Feeds and Supplemental Feeds. A Core Feed pulls in location data and maps it to a specific category within the Concept3D CMS. Data required for a core feed includes Latitude and Longitude, a location Title, and Description (not required but strongly recommended). Data overlaid on the map via a Core Feed cannot be modified through the CMS and it must be modified through the other application.
Supplemental Feeds use a unique identifier to map specific location data to a single location within the CMS. Data required for a supplemental feed includes a unique identifier and a description. Supplemental Feeds allow the location content to come in from two places, the 3rd party application and Concept3D's CMS.
How does the data get refreshed? Is that a manual process?
Once the feed is set up and implemented, our team will set up a CronJob to refresh the data on a nightly schedule or real-time schedule. This happens automatically and no extra work is needed on your end.
What types of content can Concept3D ingest?
As long as the data can be delivered in a understandable format, we can overlay that information onto your map. We’ve worked with both homegrown systems as well as 3rd party integrations. Some of which include:
CMS Related Feeds: ESRI (ArcGIS)
Live Bus Tracking: RideSystems, Transloc, DoubleMap
Video Live Streams
What if I don’t see a feed Concept3D has implemented before?
Our development team has a certain mentality - “it is not a question of IF, but HOW”. Our developers can look at any feed/API to determine how to get that content on the map. This may include some custom work but we can most likely make it happen.
What format does my data need to be in?
The preferred data format for feeds is JSON. We are able to implement other data formats, but prefer JSON when available.
Can media come from another source?
Yes! As long as there is a way to associate to the correct location (most likely through a unique identifier), we can feed in media content.
Does a feed integration come at an extra cost?
Yes, there is an extra cost for a feed integration. Please contact your Account Executive or Client Success Manager for more information. In order to provide accurate pricing, we will need to see a sample data set and fully understand what the end goal is.
