Overview
The Dashboard gives your team one place in the CMS to see what needs attention on your map and how often people are viewing it.
- Recommendations point out locations that could use better content, like a missing description or photo, and explain how to fix each one.
- Analytics shows how many times your map has been viewed over time.
The Dashboard is in Early Access. To turn it on for your map, contact your Partner Success manager.
How does the Dashboard work?
The Dashboard scans your map's locations and flags common content problems, like a missing description or a location that hasn't been updated in a long time. Recommendations come from set rules, like a description under 50 characters, so the same problem is always flagged the same way.
A few things are left out so recommendations only cover content your team maintains:
- Locations from data feeds are skipped, since they update automatically from their source.
- Concept3D-managed categories, such as system and draft categories, are skipped. They also don't count toward your Dashboard totals.
- Restricted locations are skipped unless you turn on Include restricted locations in Dashboard Settings.
After you make updates, select Recheck map to scan again and refresh your recommendations. You map will automatically be rechecked periodically.
Get to the Dashboard
There isn't a link to the Dashboard from the classic CMS yet. To open it:
- Find your map ID. It's the number after
id=in your CMS web address. For example, incms.concept3d.com/map/cms/?id=1234, your map ID is1234. - Go to
https://bulk.cms.concept3d.com/1234/dashboard, using your map ID in place of1234. - Sign in with your usual CMS login if asked.
Once you're in, use the left menu to move between Dashboard, Recommendations, Analytics, and Locations (where you find bulk editing capabilities). The browser tab shows the page and your map's name, such as "Dashboard | Your Map Name," so you can tell tabs apart if you manage more than one map.
Who can use the Dashboard
CMS admins on your map can do everything on the Dashboard. Each action is also a permission that can be given to other roles.
| Permission | What it lets someone do |
|---|---|
| View Dashboard | See the Dashboard, Recommendations, and Analytics |
| Manage Recommendations | Snooze and dismiss recommendations, and select Recheck map |
| Configure Dashboard Opt-ins | Change Dashboard Settings |
The Dashboard home page
- Totals: Locations (with how many were added this month), Categories, Tours (with how many are published), and Open Recommendations (with how many are critical).
- Usage this month: Map Views for the period. Select See all pageviews to open Analytics.
- Recommendations: your open recommendations. Select View all to see the full list.
- Activity this week: recent changes made to your map.
Recommendations
The Dashboard checks for five content problems. Each recommendation is marked Critical, Recommended, or Tip, so you can start with what matters most.
| Recommendation | What it means |
|---|---|
| Stale content detected | The location hasn't been edited in over 24 months, so its details may be out of date. |
| Missing descriptions | The location has no description, so visitors only see its name. |
| Short descriptions | The description is under 50 characters, like "Library." or "Admin building." |
| No location media | The location has no images, video, or panorama. |
| Generic titles detected | The name is a placeholder like "Untitled" or "Building," or it only repeats its category, like a dining hall named "Dining." |
Fix a recommendation
- Select a recommendation on the Dashboard or the Recommendations page.
- Read What's wrong, Why it matters, and How to fix it. Each recommendation also shows a Good example and a Less useful one.
- In the list of affected locations, select Open next to a location. Its editor opens in a new tab.
- Make your changes, then save and publish.
- When you've finished a batch of updates, select Recheck map to refresh your recommendations.
Snooze or dismiss a recommendation
- Snooze: hides a recommendation for now. The list shows a "Snoozed until" date 30 days out.
- Dismiss: hides a recommendation you've reviewed.
If the issue still exists the next time your map is checked, it shows up again as a new open recommendation.
Filter, sort, and export
On the Recommendations page, filter by status (Open, Dismissed, or Snoozed), severity, and area. Sort by Severity or Most Affected. Select Export CSV to download the list and share it with your team. On a single recommendation, Export CSV downloads its affected locations.
To dismiss every open recommendation at once, select All Clear on the Recommendations page, then select Dismiss All to confirm.
Analytics
Analytics shows how many times your map has been viewed. Concept3D counts these views, so you don't need Google Analytics set up to see them.
- Select Analytics in the left menu, or See all pageviews on the Dashboard.
- Choose a date range: Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days, Last 12 months, or Custom. If your map has a term start date set in the back end, you'll also see This term.
- Review the chart and the breakdown table below it.
- Select Export CSV to download the numbers.
| Good to know | Details |
|---|---|
| Daily or monthly totals | Ranges up to 92 days show daily totals. Longer ranges show monthly totals. |
| How far back | Pageview data goes back 24 months. |
| Today's count | When your range includes today, today's count may still be coming in. |
Dashboard Settings
Select the gear icon on the Dashboard to open Dashboard Settings.
- Include restricted locations: turn this on to check locations that aren't publicly visible.
- Recheck Map: scan your map again from here too.
FAQs
Why don't I see the Dashboard?
It's in Early Access. Ask your Partner Success manager to turn it on for your map. If it's already on, check with your CMS admin that your role has the View Dashboard permission.
How are recommendations created?
Set rules decide what gets flagged, such as a description under 50 characters or a location that hasn't been edited in 24 months. The type of location, like a building or emergency equipment, can raise or lower how important a recommendation is.
Does fixing every recommendation make my map accessible?
No. Recommendations are content guidance only, not an accessibility audit or compliance determination.
Why don't my pageviews match Google Analytics?
Analytics shows page loads counted by Concept3D, not by Google Analytics. Google Analytics can be blocked by not accepting cookies or other privacy settings, so the numbers may not match.
I fixed a location. Why is the recommendation still there?
Make sure you saved and published your changes, then select Recheck map to scan again.
