Motion & Orientation Access
Motion & Orientation Access allows websites to detect how you're holding or moving your device. When enabled, we can tell which direction the user is facing and reflect this on the map.
When our website requests this access, you'll see a popup asking "Allow access to your device's motion and orientation sensors?" You can choose:
- "Allow" - The map can detect device movement and orientation
- "Don't Allow" - The map won't have access to these sensors
You can always change this permission later in your Safari settings, and websites will need to ask for permission again if you clear your site data.
To reset device orientation access:
Method 1 - Reset through Settings:
- Open Settings app
- Go to "Safari"
- Scroll down and tap "Advanced"
- Tap "Website Data"
- Find the specific website
- Swipe left and tap "Delete" or tap "Remove All Website Data" to clear everything (this will clear for all sites)
Method 2 - Clear Site Settings:
- Open Settings app
- Go to "Safari"
- Scroll down to "Clear History and Website Data"
- Tap it and confirm
- Restart Safari
- Revisit the website
They should now see the orientation permission prompt again.
