8 Ideas for Monetizing Your Platform đź’°
1. Traditional Ads
This method works on all web content, including calendars. You can keep it simple by selling space at a flat price, or you can charge per click or impression. Of course, if you sell per click or impression, you have to drive significant traffic to your calendar.
2. Google AdSense
Google’s automated service will place ads alongside your calendar that are relevant to the page’s content, thereby upping the chance that visitors will be interested and click on them. You’ll have to split the profit with Google, but it’s a better option than letting that space go to waste. Plus, Google will deal with billing advertisers and tracking impressions and clicks.
3. Add Content to Your Calendar
You’re spending a lot of time gathering great event content. Why not get more return on the time invested by syndicating it to partners who don’t have the resources to do it themselves?
4. Include in Featured Carousel or Highlight in the Trending Events List (Sponsored)
Event promoters can pay to have their event prominently displayed on your online calendar. With Localist, you can do this with our built-in Featured Event option or by checking Sponsored, which will add a unique styling to the event listing throughout your platform.
5. Include in a Bulletin
In the Body section of the Custom Content form, you can add non-event content and HTML to add a partner’s logo or a “Sponsored by/Provided By” message. With Bulletin, you can also:
- Include as a “Sponsor” by using custom content
- Include as a “Featured Event”
- Include as a “Trending Event”, etc. (Order can be manually determined if using custom content)
6. Include in a Widget
All Widgets can be modified on your website’s page to include a partner’s logo or a“Sponsored by/Provided By” message. Not to mention, with Localist’s built in Widget Builder, you can:
- Include an event in a specific Widget, such as a Widget on your website’s homepage
- Include as a “Featured Event”
- Include as a “Sponsor,” etc.
7. Affiliate Revenue
Through partnerships with ticketing sites like Ticketmaster, LiveNation, Eventbrite, and more, you can gather affiliate revenue from anyone who clicks the Buy Tickets link through your calendar.
