What is the best practice for the number of stops per tour? What is the best number for engagement?
10 tour stops - if a tour visitor moves to the 3rd stop is when they are really engaged! A user who comes onto a tour typically takes one action & on the first action, there is a 17-18% drop-off rate. If the user takes 2 actions there is a 6% drop-off rate, after that, it stabilizes around a 3% drop-off rate. The drop-off rates continue to decrease after that third action and 3% drop-off rate.
What is the best practice for the number of “things” on a tour stop… hot spots, descriptions, other links, etc.
Under 10 items on the tour stops - ex. If you have 10 tour stops that is 100 items for your user to click on. This can be a mixture of hotspots and additional media. The majority of our tours only have 1 video per stop, and an average of 2-3 images per stop.
What is the best practice for the order of the tour… in walking order or tour stops in order of importance?
Order of importance, drop-off always tends to be higher towards the start of the tour so you want to make sure the most important stops/information is ordered first within the tour stops.

An average of 70% of tour visitors make it to the end of your tour. We always recommend monitoring your individual analytics to understand your tour best.

100-200 words (or 2 paragraphs) for the highest engagement and best mobile experience.
Less than 110 words or 811 characters eliminates the need to scroll. For 110+ words, use a reading time calculator to analyze how long the description would engage visitors for
When, where, and how often do you suggest the RFI form pop up?
Place Form on 3rd stop (or later) to engage viewers when they are most sticky. The form cannot appear on other tour stops, but will always be accessible via the form button.
