Localist Calendar Sync is an event feed type that seamlessly syncs events from other Localist calendars into one centralized, main calendar. Designed for complex organizations with multiple entities, it enables various departments and schools to control their own calendars, maintain their distinct brands, and ensure all events are centrally accessible.
How does it work?
First, contact your Partner Success Manager or support@concept3d.com to create a Platform Group for all of your calendars. Once that is set up, follow these steps:
1. Create New Event Feed
Localist Calendar Sync is a new Feed Type available when you add an event feed to your Platform. Select "Localist" from the dropdown and fill in the feed information.
2. Add Content Mappings
Content Mappings are the foundational pieces of Localist Calendar Sync. These Content Mappings define two things:
- Which events you want to bring over from the Source calendar
- How you want those events to display in the Destination calendar
- Selecting a Place, Group, Department, or Filter for Source Classification will show the available options in the Item field next to it. Selecting a Tag or Keyword will open a text field to type in.
3. Save Feed
Once you have your Localist Calendar Sync event feed set up how you want, and you have your desired Content Mappings, hit Save Changes.
Edit Feed Options
- Name
- Platform - You will see the other platforms in your Platform Group in the dropdown when first creating the feed, but this cannot be edited once the feed is saved.
- Skip Pending Queue - If this is checked, events will publish immediately to the live calendar once updated (Optional)
- Photo - Apply a Photo Override to ALL events coming in through this feed (Optional)
Frequently Asked Questions
If I have multiple calendar platforms using Localist Calendar Sync, can I "chain" events across different calendars?
No, events fed via Localist Calendar Sync can only go one stop. So if you have Calendar A, B, and C, events can only go:
- A -> B
- B -> C
- A -> C
But not A -> B -> C.
