Within every location and category there is a field where you can add Labels; these are internal tags to assist with bulk editing via the Location Manager. This feature allows CMS users to bulk edit locations, including their Visible, Private, and Schedule settings. This is best used to bulk edit locations that live under different categories.
How to Add Labels to a Single Location or Category
-
Create a new or edit an existing category/location and find the Labels field; it will be near the bottom, below the Keywords field
In the Labels field, enter your choice words to group locations together. For example - sustainability, construction, capital project. Remember that they must be comma-separated.
Once you have finished adding Labels to your category or location, hit Save, and Publish your location.
How to Use Labels in Bulk Editing
In the CMS, click the Bulk Edit tab to the left of the Bulk Upload tab
Enter your label of choice into the Labels field
The Bulk Edit page will update to show a list of locations with that Label.
You can select and edit one location at a time, or select multiple locations to edit simultaneously.
-
After you have selected your location(s), click the Edit button and select the Field to Edit.
-
With Bulk Edit, you can update Category associations, edit Names and Descriptions, add Images, change Visibility Settings, add Keywords and Labels, and more!
-
After you have made your changes, make sure to Save them.
-
You can Check the boxes for the locations you have edited, which will prompt a new Publish button to appear; alternatively, you can return to your CMS, where the edits will also populate in the CMS' publish tab.
Hint: You may need to refresh the CMS for the edits to appear.
Select and Publish your changes!
Helpful Hint:
Labels are useful for Bulk Editing... and they can also be added via a Bulk Edit! Use the Location Manager to add Labels to many locations simultaneously for use in future Bulk Editing.
