When searching for locations I am getting back an empty array, what is the issue?
If you are using the test environment to test out the dev API, it is possible the dev environment has yet to be synched with the production environment, especially if you are in the production process with your new map. Reach out to your Client Success Manager and ask if it is possible to get a data update to the test environment.
What is the difference between the Dev API and Production API?
The dev API is connecting to the development environment. We have a dev version of the map for testing purposes - any changes made in this environment are temporary, and liable to be overwritten at any time. The production API is connecting to your CMS. This is where you are making updates, adding content, etc and will be the most up to date data.
Why are changes made in the CMS not returning in the API?
You will not see changes that you made at myatlascms.com show up immediately on the test API because they are two separate environments. Changes on one won't affect the other. We will periodically import your data from production for testing. So, once you are able to successfully interact with the dev API, you can can reach out to our Client Success Manager for the production API.
Is it possible to restrict a location request or search query to a particular category?
You can restrict which categories are returned by turning the categories to “non-visible” or “private” in the content management system. Any locations living under a category with either of those settings turned on will not be returned.
What data is returned from the wayfinding results?
The wayfinding will calculate the shortest distance between two points. You can give two points and the route between the two will be calculated. You can use an array of coordinates.
I am trying to pull the wayfinding data from the API, but I am getting a 400 Bad Request Error - what is the issue?
First, check to make sure wayfinding has been added to your map. If you are in the production process, the wayfinding nodes will not be added until after the second round of revisions. If wayfinding is on your map and you are still having issues, reach out to your Client Success Manager for more information.
